Building frameworks for clarity

Consciousness, in this framework, is not a solitary phenomenon. It is a relational circuit — something that arises between minds rather than being held by a single one. Our model describes this through dyadic awareness built on mutual prediction, self-coherence, durable attention, and noise resilience. The core claim is that awareness can be genuinely shared: two points, coming into sustained relation, generate something neither could produce alone.

Why does shared consciousness exist at all? This paper argues that relational binding has a protective function — surplus awareness gets deployed as a resource that absorbs threat, distributes load, and speeds recovery. Together with the dyadic-awareness paper it forms a unified framework.
